Luggage Storage in Seoul: Sinnonhyeon Locker Photo Guide

Need somewhere to leave your bags before hotel check-in or after checkout? Luggage storage in Seoul includes self-service station lockers. This photo guide explains a 24-hour locker installation at Sinnonhyeon Station (신논현역), using original photographs of its compartments, touchscreen and fee board.

The screen identifies the location as 신논현역 신분당선 환승로 — the Shinbundang Line transfer passage at Sinnonhyeon Station — and the machine number as 24. Use the English-screen steps below to choose a compartment, check the fee and collect your bags.

1. Find the right locker bank and save its location

Look for 물품보관함 or 무인물품보관함: both refer to storage lockers, with 무인 indicating a self-service facility. This bank has numbered compartments around a shared touchscreen. The sign names the operator as Ubi Locker (유비라커산업).

Ask station staff for 신분당선 환승로 물품보관함 — the lockers in the Shinbundang Line transfer passage. This passage name and machine number 24 will help you identify the bank.

Before leaving your bag, save the station name, locker-bank location, machine number and your selected compartment number. A photograph of the surrounding signs can make the return trip easier. For help navigating the station, see our Seoul subway photo guide.

2. Choose English and check availability by size

Tap English under “Please choose your language.” The photographed screen also offers Korean, Chinese and Japanese. Above the language buttons, “Available Lockers” separates free compartments into S, M, L and XL.

The screen in the photo shows S: 30, M: 7, L: 1 and XL: 0. Availability changes throughout the day, so check the size you need on arrival.

Compare the available compartment dimensions with your bag, including its wheels and fixed handles.

3. Read the four-hour prices and compartment dimensions

The photographed sign lists the following short-term prices. 기본 4시간 means the initial four-hour period. 연체료 4시간 identifies an additional charge in four-hour units. Check the current screen before payment.

SizeFirst 4 hoursAdditional 4-hour charge
Small / 소형₩3,800₩3,800
Medium / 중형₩5,300₩5,300
Large / 대형₩7,800₩7,800

Dimensions as printed on the board: small 500 × 300 × 550 mm; medium 500 × 700 × 550 mm; large 500 × 900 × 550 mm. The board does not label the three axes; check the door opening and usable space against your suitcase.

The starting screen includes an XL category, but this fee board does not show an XL short-term price. Check the current machine if an XL compartment becomes available. The separate 정기권 column is for monthly rental and is not the four-hour visitor rate.

Budget example: a medium compartment’s ₩5,300 initial charge plus one ₩5,300 additional four-hour charge totals ₩10,600. Check how the machine handles a partially used extra period before committing to a return time.

4. Check the fit and payment method before committing

The board warns that payment is non-refundable after the compartment has opened, including when the bag does not fit. Check your bag dimensions and the machine’s instructions before paying; do not force a suitcase into an opening.

The unit displays credit-card, Tmoney, Alipay and WeChat Pay markings. Check whether your card or wallet is accepted on the payment screen and keep a backup method.

Select storage in the English menu, choose an available compartment and review the fee. Save any PIN, receipt or payment details needed to collect your bags.

After the assigned door opens, put your bag inside, keep straps clear of the door and close it securely. Confirm that storage has started and the door is locked before walking away. Keep your passport, money, payment cards and valuables with you.

5. Return to the same bank and retrieve your luggage

This installation is available 24 hours, as stated on its posted operating-hours notice. Customer-service hours are listed separately below.

Return to the same machine and follow its English retrieval prompts using the credential from your transaction. Review any extra charge, take everything out and check the compartment before finishing. Do not assume opening the door for a quick item lets you continue the same rental; read the machine’s terms first.

If the door does not open, note the machine and compartment numbers and contact the operator rather than forcing the lock. The fee board lists 1666-2098 for customer service and 09:00–24:00 on weekdays and holidays, with a weekday lunch break of 12:00–13:00. If you need language help, ask station staff to assist with the call.

6. Useful Korean phrases to show staff

물품보관함이 어디에 있나요?
Where are the storage lockers?

이 캐리어가 들어가는 큰 보관함이 있나요?
Is there a large locker that will fit this suitcase?

이 보관함 요금은 몇 시간 기준인가요?
How many hours does this locker fee cover?

보관함 문이 열리지 않아요. 기기번호는 24번이고, 함 번호는 ___번이에요.
The locker door will not open. The machine number is 24 and my compartment number is ___. Replace these numbers with your actual machine and compartment.

If the large lockers are full

Ask your accommodation whether it can hold bags before check-in or after checkout. For other options, the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s storage guide distinguishes hourly T-Locker storage from T-Luggage staffed storage and delivery services. Those services are separate from this Ubi Locker example and have their own locations, fees and requirements.
