Simmani Pyeongchon: A Family Meal of Hanjeongsik and Samgyetang

Simmani Pyeongchon is worth considering if you are already exploring Anyang and want a Korean set meal or chicken soup. We visited as a family, ordered hanjeongsik and sipjeondaebo samgyetang, and came away pleased with both the meal and the practical side of eating out with a child.

This was not a trip planned around a famous restaurant. We had an appointment on the fourth floor of the same building and decided to eat there afterwards. Being able to finish our errand and have a meal without getting back into the car made a difference.

What we ordered—and how to recognise it on the menu

Our choices were 건강밥상 한정식, the restaurant’s Korean set meal, and 십전대보 삼계탕, a herbal-style chicken soup. If you cannot find the restaurant under its English spelling, search for 건강밥상심마니 평촌점.

건강밥상 한정식A Korean set-meal option₩19,900

These are prices recorded on our menu photograph, not a current quotation. The photographed menu also offered a ₩3,000 rice upgrade. Check the menu when ordering rather than assuming those options and prices remain unchanged.

I came away feeling that we had eaten a wholesome meal.

Why the parking and seating mattered to us

With a child, the space around a meal can matter as much as the menu. We found the basement parking convenient, and I was satisfied with our seats. The wooden tables, backed chairs and partitions are visible in the photograph below.

If you are driving, ask the restaurant how to validate your parking. For a larger family, checking table availability ahead of time would be helpful.

Finding the correct Pyeongchon branch

The restaurant’s official branch page lists the address as 260 Simin-daero, Dongan-gu, Anyang, on the second floor of the A.F.C building, units 203–205, opposite Anyang City Hall.

Save 경기 안양시 동안구 시민대로 260, A.F.C 2층 in your map app. Use the street address as well as the branch name; a search for the brand alone may lead to a different location. Plan the journey to the building, then allow time to locate the restaurant inside.

The branch page lists the address but not a full timetable. Call ahead for opening hours, meal breaks and last orders, particularly if you plan to visit on a Sunday or late in the evening.

Ordering without assuming English service

An English menu and English-speaking service have not been confirmed. Keep the Korean menu names above on your phone and use a translation app for the current menu. 이 메뉴 하나 주세요 means “One of this, please”; show the item while saying it.

If ingredients matter to you, ask about the whole dish and side dishes rather than relying on the word “healthy”. Do not infer vegetarian suitability or allergen safety from a translated dish name.

Would I add it to a Seoul itinerary?

I would consider it when already spending time in Pyeongchon or visiting someone in Anyang. The convenience we enjoyed came from being in the same building already; it is not a reason for every first-time Seoul visitor to make a separate trip.

For another kind of local meal, our Katsup Beomgye visit report shows the cutlets we ordered. If you want a walk afterwards, read the Pyeongchon Central Park photo report and check the transfer separately.
