Katsup Beomgye Review: Pork Cutlets and Kimchi Katsu Nabe in Anyang

I visited Katsup Beomgye (카츠업 범계점) with my child when we wanted a simple pork cutlet meal in Beomgye, Anyang. We ordered tenderloin katsu and kimchi katsu nabe. I enjoy a little spice, so I chose the kimchi broth dish alongside the regular cutlet set.

This is a record of what we ordered and the details I noticed in the restaurant, with my own photographs.

What we ordered: tenderloin katsu and kimchi katsu nabe

The menu included regular cutlets, cheese options, nabe dishes, curry and udon. Our choice gave us one crisp cutlet plate and one cutlet dish served in broth.

The menu I photographed listed tenderloin katsu (안심카츠) and kimchi katsu nabe (김치카츠나베) at ₩10,500 each. These are the prices shown during our visit, so check the current menu when ordering.

How the two meals were served

The tenderloin katsu arrived sliced, with shredded cabbage on the plate. Rice, soup, sauce and side dishes completed the set.

The kimchi katsu nabe had cutlet and spring onion over a red broth, with rice, cabbage and side dishes served separately. Ordering both made it easy to compare a regular cutlet set with a warming broth-based meal.

If you prefer cutlet in soup, look for 김치카츠나베 on the menu. If you are sensitive to spicy food, ask about the heat before ordering; people’s tolerance varies.

A tidy interior and a place for coats

The restaurant looked tidy, and wall hangers let us keep our coats out of the way while eating. It was a small but welcome detail.

From the tables I saw, I thought it could also work for a solo meal. I did not photograph the entire dining room, so this is an impression of the seating I used rather than a full seating guide.
